“I want to be 

like the waves on the sea, 

like the clouds in the wind, 

but I’m me. 

One day I’ll jump 

out of my skin.

About Artist 關於藝術家 

Having graduated with Bachelor of Fine Arts (2012), Master of Arts in Philosophy (2021) at Chinese University of Hong Kong, Jamila Mushroom begins exploring the intertwining relationship between visual expression and literature. By developing the unique characters which appear throughout her drawings, an imaginary, condensed and self-sufficient world is formed. Recently, she is experimenting the possible reactions between drawing and literature. 

畢業於香港中文大學藝術系學士(2012)及哲學系文學碩士(2021)課程，Jamila Mushroom嘗試探索視覺表達與文學的關係。她所創作的人物貫穿她的作品，建構一個想像的、濃縮的和自足的世界。近來她繼續試驗繪畫與文學的可塑性。
