Yiu received his BAFA from RMIT University (co-presented with Hong Kong Art School) in 2016, having majored in ceramics. Clay has been used in his work as a way of reinterpreting natural elements: animal teeth and bones are mixed with decayed woods and twigs. His ceramic works are highly authentic that correspond to their locale, being derived from clay found in various parts of Hong Kong, including Tai Mo Shan, Chuen Lung Village, Tai Sang Wai, and Sze Pak Wan, among others.
