Artwork Statement 作品簡介 
 
This artwork reimagines the classic fairy tale narrative through a surreal and introspective lens. Set beneath an ancient tree, the scene unfolds in a misty, dreamlike atmosphere where nature whispers secrets and light dances through shifting clouds. At its heart is a young girl who defies traditional roles—biting the poisoned apple not to sleep, but to awaken her own agency. She escapes through the fog, soaring across branches in search of a self-determined ending. The piece explores themes of choice, rebellion, and transformation, inviting viewers to rethink familiar stories and embrace new possibilities. 
 
這件作品以夢境般的氛圍重新詮釋經典童話。場景設於一棵古老的樹下，霧氣瀰漫，枝葉低語，光影交錯，營造出神秘的自然語境。畫中女孩不再是等待王子拯救的公主，而是選擇在咬下毒蘋果後拒絕沉睡，勇敢逃離夢境，穿越迷霧，飛越老樹枝幹，尋找屬於自己的結局。作品探索選擇、反抗與自我轉化的主題，邀請觀者重新思考熟悉的故事，擁抱新的可能性。 
 
 
About Artist 關於藝術家 
 
Prudence Mak is a Hong Kong artist, curator, founder of Chocolate Rain, and Senior Advisor at the Hong Kong Arts Centre. Her work blends fairy tale narratives with cultural heritage, bridging East and West. She has exhibited in London, New York, Sydney, and Singapore, and received multiple awards in design, publishing, and the creative industries. 
 
麥雅端是香港藝術家、策展人、Chocolate Rain創辦人及香港藝術中心高級顧問。她的創作融合童話敘事與文化根源，連結東西方的想像與傳統。作品曾於倫敦、紐約、悉尼及新加坡展出，並榮獲多項設計、出版及創意產業大獎。她致力推動香港創意產業走向國際。
