Artwork Statement
I absorbed the characteristic of "broken strokes" in the Zhangcao style of calligraphy. Without violating the structure of the characters, I wrote with short and simple strokes, causing each character to be deconstructed and unified with the overall space, pushing the sense of dense composition to the extreme without overlapping. The intention is to present a feeling of order within chaos, moving from "sparse enough for a horse to gallop through, dense enough to block the wind" (as said by Deng Shiru) to another realm of "sparse enough to block the wind, dense enough for a horse to gallop through." (A viewer once said this calligraphy has sparseness within its density and asked if it expressed the spiritual realm of Zhuangzi's "Free and Easy Wandering" with its freedom of coming and going. This was not my original intention, but it is not without its interesting points.)
