JUNE MUNG, born in Hong Kong and lived in United States for 6 years.

After graduating from university in United States with a biochemistry degree, June travelled in Europe visiting many art museums and started interested in art. Later June moved back to Hong Kong and started attending painting lessons. At the beginning of her painting lessons, she was drawn to suffering and dark images. Later, she  started to find herself through series of self- portraits and uses more bright colors. 

Lately, her work consists of bright colors and sharp images. In 2021, June took on ceramic lessons and started making sculptures that drawn from her memories growing up in Hong Kong and United States.

Artist statement

This piece celebrates the artist's favorite drink and serves as a reminder of the moment of tranquility that a hot cup of lemon tea can bring.
