Artist Statement

Graduating with distinction from RMIT/HKAS in fine arts, Boon Lee’s earlier works involved readymades and recycled materials, for which he had received prizes and awards.  He has since returned to painting with a new perspective. 

Simplicity and tranquility are the focus of the two still-lifes on show at the current exhibition.  The setting, the choice of colours and the brushwork hint at the inner state and evoke a longing for resolution and reconciliation. 

李本瀅完成澳洲皇家墨爾本理工大學/香港藝術學院合辦之美術學士課程，以優異成績畢業。初期他利用環保物料和日常生活物品創作，取得不同獎項。最近以嶄新角度重新回到繪畫創作。

是次展出的兩幅靜物作品，焦點着眼於簡潔和寧謐。不論擺設、顏色取捨及畫法，均隱隱透自內心，突顯對未來排難解紛的憧憬。
