For some people, tattoos have become a negative symbol. The prejudice against tattoos may be due to various reasons. One possible reason is that traditional values have long associated tattoos with undesirable behavior or crime, which may have been reinforced by media portrayals.

Additionally, some people may view tattoos as a permanent change that can affect one's personal image or employment opportunities. For example, some government jobs, service industries, police, and teaching professions do not accept candidates with tattoos, leading to more conservative views on the matter.

But does having a tattoo automatically make someone a bad person? If I am a teacher with a tattoo, does that mean my teaching ability is poor? If I am an office worker with a tattoo, does that mean my work skills are lacking?

In this work, I have used animals with inherent symbolic meanings - bears/pandas and cats. People have bestowed the "national treasure" title on pandas, and pandas are seen as auspicious during the Chinese New Year. Cats, on the other hand, have been beloved pets since ancient Egyptian times, and they have evolved to symbolize "cuteness."

However, if I were to replace the natural patterns on these animals with the tattoo designs mentioned earlier, would people still see them as "national treasures" or "cute"? Would the tattoos change the inherent symbolism of these animals?

The main theme of this work is to present and combine the contrast between these two elements, and I hope the audience can reflect on how tattoos can change the perceptions of these animals through my artwork.

The artist Chung Chun Kau integrates ceramic and tattoo culture in his creative works. His creative inspiration comes from various aspects of life, including his work experience, portraits, and emotional experiences. His creations are inspired by the fact that he worked in a children's art studio for 5 years after graduating from high school, during which time he also learned the operation, culture, and design of tattooing. The sharp contrast between these two jobs became the inspiration for his creations, and this experience led the artist to explore issues such as "whether tattooing will affect educational work" and "whether parents will mind if teachers have tattoos." This experience has profoundly influenced his creative concepts and style.

Chung Chun Kau's artworks are a unique interpretation of these issues. They are the products of his deep reflection on "tattoos" and "educating children." While expressing his personal emotions, his works also inspire the audience's imagination and thinking.
