《黑白交響曲》
一個狂風暴雨的晚上，雷電交加！震天的雷聲讓我心跳加速，心頭一震，我被它的威力所震懾。我停留在天橋上，耳邊雷聲轟鳴，似在向世界怒吼。閃電好像跟雷聲有節奏地互動起來。我很想捕捉那些閃電的瞬間，但閃電卻始終無法捉摸。

眼前的車輛在高速公路上奔馳，車頭燈的光線在濕滑的路面上反射，影像變化得像慢鏡頭般迷人。我試圖捕捉這一切。水珠不經意間滴在鏡頭上，形成了一種自然的效果，為照片增添了一層神秘感。

這些光影彷彿是低吟著的音符，讓我感受到一份悲傷而浪漫、凄美的氛圍。儘管外面風雨交加，我的心靈卻與這自然的音樂產生了共鳴。這幅作品正是我對那個夜晚情感的寫照，黑白之間的對比，化作一首充滿澎湃思考的交響曲。

《Lamenting Monochrome Symphony》
A stormy night, with thunder and lightning crackling! The deafening thunder made my heart pound, and I was awestruck by its power. I stood on the overpass, with the thunder roaring in my ears, as if it were shouting at the world. The lightning seemed to interact rhythmically with the thunder. I longed to capture those fleeting moments of lightning, but it always eluded me.

Cars sped down the highway, their headlights reflecting on the wet road, creating images that flowed in mesmerizing slow motion. I tried to capture it all. Raindrops bloomed on the lens unbidden, creating a natural effect that added a layer of mystery to the photos.

These lights and shadows seemed to whisper like notes, evoking a sense of sadness, romance, and melancholy. Despite the storm outside, my spirit resonated with this natural music. This work reflects my emotions from that night, with the contrast between black and white transforming into a symphony of surging contemplation.

Artist statement

Ann Choi 

Having studied photography in Germany and the United States, Ann returned to Hong Kong to build her career in the multimedia industry. Ann received her Bachelor of Arts in Applied & Media Arts, organized by Hong Kong Arts School and Hong Kong Polytechnic University and her Master of Science in Multimedia & Entertainment Technology, School of Design, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
Over the years, she has gained extensive knowledge and experience through her roles as television producer, program executive producer, photographer, researcher, scriptwriter and magazine editor. Ann is also an independent film director.
Her directorial debut film, 《Ah Pig Ah Dog.com》, was featured in the Absolute Independent 2005 festival, hosted by the "Hong Kong Film Critics Organization" and commissioned by "The Hong Kong Arts Development Council". Screened at Broadway Cinematheque, Yaumatei, 《Ah Pig Ah Dog.com》 was the only independent film in the film festival that attracted a full house attendance.
Ann’s gift is in seizing each remarkable moment with her camera. Her artistic eye blends with her technical skills to capture the memory forever. Her stunning spontaneous photography style makes her pictures full of vibrancy and feeling.
Ann’s sense of composition in photography creates the sensation that each still is part of a movie and a poem. Each frame encompasses a scene, an idea, an emotion. Whether the setting is formal or informal, there is always Ann’s pervasive sense of style and originality.
Ann believes the “picture speaks”! Photography is not only about showing each precious moment itself, but also in setting it in its proper context. Only then can the whole vivid story be revealed: photographic evidence with an exciting sense of real life. Ann believes photography is not just an art of light and shadow—it is also a way for her to express the culture, life, and soul of the world. 

曾分別留學德國與美國攻讀攝影藝術系，並考取香港藝術學院和理工合辦的應用媒體藝術學士及香港理工大學設計學院多媒體科藝理學碩士，Ann Choi 對事業從沒有一個 很明確的計畫，例如規定自己一生要拍什麼。她只是試圖拍攝那些能觸動她視覺神經的事物，然後開始研究那些深層次的感情本質，想把它們用照片表現出來。Ann Choi 認為攝影可以使用自然光，把要拍攝的大小人物當成是主⻆般看待，注意那些微小舉動，表情也是重要的。另一方面，攝影師也不要試圖控制局面，應該是要從目擊者的⻆度出發，重點是要用照片來記錄事件。
攝影不僅是光影的藝術，更是Ann對文化、生活與靈魂的表達方式。 
她曾任職電視台，報紙和雜誌等工作，現在 是全職攝影師外， 亦曾經執導及製作獨立電影。同時參與攝影、設計、廣告創作及教育工 作。
