Artist Statement
In my artistic journey, I embrace an introspective perspective—an inward exploration of emotions that reflect the multifaceted nature of life. My work is a mirror of my experiences: moments of feeling lost, getting uplifted, finding hope, that we all experience as human beings in daily life. Each piece serves as a snapshot of how I feel at any given moment, depicting life forms and our paths that each of us learns to be alone, in our bodies, while also being together as we are all one in the universe, the essence of our shared human experience.
“Baby Star” was inspired by my child when he was born, symbolizing a mother’s view that her child will always be a star no matter what path he or she follows. Crafted from black or white marble, this sculpture stands alone or together, representing the duality of individuality and unity. It conveys an underlying message: that despite our differences, we are all interconnected, grounded in the same celestial fabric.
The symbol of a rabbit also appears often in my work as this creature represents a spirit that is both youthful and spirited, reminding me to nurture the little child within. Through the rabbit, I invite curiosity and tenderness into my life, encouraging myself to approach each day as a fresh opportunity for growth and connection.
