Artwork Statement 作品簡介 
 
Inspired by Hong Kong Geopark's hexagonal volcanic rock columns at Bell Cave, CHAN captures a close-up moment where rock formations mirror the water's glow.  Rich brushstrokes reveal layered textures, contrasting cool emerald waves with ochre rock veins.  Through shifting light, he creates a poetic realm where "boats glide on azure waves, travelers roam within paintings," immersing viewers in the beauty of Hong Kong's geological wonder. 
 
靈感源自西貢吊鐘洞六角形火山岩柱。陳氏以特寫構圖截取岩體與水光交映的瞬間，透過筆觸表現岩層肌理，冷翠碧波與赭褐岩脈形成動人對比，於流動光影中展現「舟行碧波上，人在畫中游」的詩意境界，引領觀者感受香港地質奇觀之美。 
 
 
About Artist 關於藝術家 
 
A graduate of the Hong Kong Academy of Fine Arts (1952), received mentorship from masters ZHAO Shao'ang, ZHOU Gong Li and CHAN Hoi Ying.  He earned a degree in Education, an Advanced Diploma in Industrial Design, and Certificate in Adult Education in Canada and London.  A scholarship to Florence and Rome for immersive study of Renaissance art history. 

Researched art education across North America, Europe and Asia.  Taught in North America, delivered lectures and presented paper internationally.  His painting “Stanley Sailboats” was published as UNICEF greeting card. 

He is currently the Principal of his alma mater HKAFA(1952), and advisor for the UNESCO HK Peace Centre, vice chairman of the Asia International Artists Association, and Judge for art and photography competitions. 
 
香港美術專科學校(1952)畢業，師從趙少昂、周公理及陳海鷹等名家。後負笈加拿大取得教育學學位、工業設計高級文憑及成人教育證書，並獲獎學金赴佛羅倫斯研習文藝復興藝術。 

曾於北美、歐洲及亞洲多地考察美術教育，執教于北美中學及大學、並應邀講學及屢赴國際會議宣讀論文。畫作《赤柱風帆》獲聯合國兒童基金會印製賀卡，行銷全球。 

現任母校香港美專(1952)校長、聯合國教科文組織香港和平中心顧問、亞洲國際藝術家協會副主席，常膺任藝術與攝影比賽評委。
