Artwork Statement
As a graduate of the first year of the Hong Kong Academy of Fine Arts, Au Yeung Nai Chim created a series of street sketches of Hong Kong Island in the mid-to-late 1950s. With the vision and skill of a young artist, these works truthfully reflect the streetscape of Hong Kong at that time, and a record of the artist's daily life in the neighbourhood as well.
