During the 1939 Battle of Taierzhuang, CHAN Hoi Ying held a charity exhibition in Hong Kong, where his ink shrimp paintings earned acclaim from luminaries like Liu Ya-zi, Zhao Shao’ang. His 1994 work "Shrimp - Translucent Elegant Swimmers" masterfully cap 
 
1939年抗戰時期，陳氏為援助台兒莊大捷在香港舉辦義展，其水墨蝦已名震藝壇，獲柳亞子、趙少昂等名家盛讚。1994年作品《蝦 ‐-- 樂悠游》筆墨精妙，水韻自生，生動寫出蝦之靈動，更獲專家與媒體高度推崇。 
 
 
About Artist 關於藝術家 
 
Chan Hoi Ying, a key Hong Kong artist, founded the HK Academy of Fine Arts in 1952. A student of Li Tie-fu, he mastered John Sargent’s techniques. Named one of the top three portraitists by ASOPA in 1994, he held retrospectives in 1993 and 2002, and taught at leading overseas art institutions. 
 
陳海鷹是香港藝壇與美術教育奠基人，1952年創辦香港美術專科學校。他師從李鐵夫，深得薩金特寫實技法真傳，1994年獲美國肖像畫家會評為三大優秀畫家。台灣省立美術館、香港藝術館先後為其舉辦回顧展，亦多次應海外名校邀請講學、示範油畫。
